You are the Only One Who Can Save Yourself: The "System of Wa" Beyond the Exclusion of "Self-Responsibility"
The System of "Wa": Rescuing the Self Through Divine Wisdom
The Great Premise: Self-Reliance In this world, no matter who you are, the only person who can truly save you is yourself. Not parents, not siblings—only you. It sounds cold, perhaps even harsh. But do not despair just yet.
The Minor Premise: Divine Wisdom We are the only beings gifted by the Creator with the wisdom to create "Something" from "Nothing." This isn't knowledge from books; it is wisdom that wells up from within.
The Conclusion: The System of "Wa" (Harmony) When we apply this inner wisdom, we save not only ourselves but others as well. This is the "System of Wa."
Think of water. It exists as solid ice, liquid water, and invisible vapor. Everything in this physical world (the "Visible") is born from the "Invisible" (the Void). We humans are the same. We are children of the Divine, temporary physical vessels carrying an eternal spiritual spark.
A Critique of "Self-Responsibility" Lately, the term "Self-Responsibility" (Jiko-sekinin) is thrown around to exclude and discard others. But in the true Japanese language, such a cold word does not exist. Our language is one of blessing.
Those who lack wisdom love to use "Self-Responsibility" as a weapon, forgetting that tomorrow it could be them in need. If we must use such a term, I prefer "Collective Responsibility." It reflects the true integrity and spirit of the Japanese people.
We live in the only "Land of Wa" in the world. Why must we mimic the coldness of others? Take care of your body—the raiment of your soul. Listen to your inner spirit.
Stand tall, make your mark, and strive onward.

Asahi Hanasaki
From this land of prayer, I, Asahi Hanasaki, am introducing the "Harmony of Wa" to the whole world.
I am a delivery driver in Japan who also helps protect and maintain a traditional Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple. Balancing these two worlds gives me a unique perspective on modern society. Through my writing, I aim to share the warmth of mutual aid and help readers find the courage to live another day.
